K.WOW stands for Kids Worshiping On Wednesdays. Jesus
said “Let the little children come to me, and do not
hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 NIVK.WOW offers the children of the community a non-denominational Bible-based after school
program to help them explore and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Reaching children ages 3 (pre-school) to 6th grade. The KWOW
program is designed to offer children a safe, FUN, loving environment in which
they could learn about Jesus Christ.
They are encouraged to try new things, love one another, and be
comfortable in church. We use
every aspect of the church; fellowship hall for snacks, classrooms for
learning, and sanctuary for singing our praises to God.
The curriculum we
use is video based, fast paced and exciting. While there is prep work that has to be done the lessons
really do teach themselves. Giving
the teachers more time to talk to the kids and make the lessons applicable to
daily living. There is also a shepherd
that does a pickup at many of the local daycares in town to bring in the
preschool children. KWOW Shepherds
walk the one block from church to school and meet the children and escort them
to the church.
We offer the
children a snack right when they arrive hosted by the UMW. Through the KWOW program our church has the opportunity to encounter the children of our communities, embrace them with the love of Jesus Christ, equip them to the discipled people God is calling them to be and extent them into them back out into the world transforming the world around us one life at a time.
